Teriyaki
Beef on a Stick
1 lb. flank steak
Bamboo skewers
Teriyaki Sauce:
½ c. water
½ c. soy sauce
¼ c. brown sugar or honey
1 tbsp. grated fresh ginger or ½ tsp. powdered ginger
1 clove crushed garlic or ½ tsp. garlic powder
¼ c. mirin or saki or sweet wine
Partially freeze steak for easier
cutting. Slit in ¼" diagonal strips. Thread meat on skewers.
Combine sauce ingredients. Marinate 15-30 minutes. Broil in preheated
broiler or grill outdoors 3-4 minutes. Baste while cooking.
*Soak skewers in water before cooking to
avoid burning.
